National Tertiary Championship

After a year of national tertiary sport, the University of Auckland defended its title of National Tertiary Champions and was awarded the UTSNZ Shield for the fifth year in a row.

This Shield is presented annually to the University with the greatest combined points from all the National Tertiary Championship events held throughout the year.

After a year of fierce competition against universities from all over New Zealand, the University of Auckland secured the win in four sports tournaments this year; 3×3 Basketball (men’s), Volleyball (men’s and women’s) and Badminton (mixed).

 

Results:

Rowing: 4th (mixed)

3×3 Basketball: 1st (M), 4th (W)

Futsal: 4th (M), 3rd (W)

Volleyball: 1st (M), 1st (W)

Badminton: 1st (mixed)
