The Great Waka Ama Race – Bay Edition

This year, the Great Waka Ama Race – Bay Edition was held on Saturday, 20 March, with 56 students competing across 9 University teams.

Faculty and association teams paddled from the Hyundai Marine Sports Centre at Okahu Bay to Mission Bay, where they completed a puzzle challenge on the beach before paddling back. As with every year, the race was fast and the competition fierce.

The FMHS Seabass made it look easy, completing the race in just 33.08 minutes, followed by the Commerce Cougars in 2nd at 34.16 minutes and Ngā Tauira Māori (NTM) coming in 3rd at 34.40 minutes.
