Tertiary Sports
After a year of national tertiary sport, the University of Auckland defended its title of National Tertiary Champions and was awarded the UTSNZ Shield for the fifth year in a row.
Olympics + Paralympics
The Olympics took place in Tokyo, Japan, from 23 July to 8 August 2021. With two University of Auckland students winning gold and one alum winning bronze, there was plenty to celebrate.
Marine Sports
University marine sports continued to grow in 2021 with the Hyundai Marine Sport Centre located just 10 minutes from the City Campus!
The Great Waka Ama Race – Bay Edition
This year, the Great Waka Ama Race - Bay Edition was held on Saturday, 20 March, with 56 students competing across 9 University teams.
Inter-Residential Championship
Accommodation residents competed in Inter-Residential events all year. Find out who won the championship title in 2021!
Interfaculty Sports Championship
Each year, Sport and Recreation run the Interfaculty Sports Championship, allowing students to represent their faculty across various sports. This year, faculties competed against each other across nine different sports tournaments.
